The Fractal Project is an initiative of the Internet and Civil Society Foundation (FISOC) to promote the use of information and communication technologies (Tic) in education and social development in Mexico.
Fractal has as its general objective promote the use of ICT in the classroom and in children's daily lives, girls and adolescents in Mexico. For it, Different research activities are being carried out, Training and dissemination on this topic.
Project activities
Throughout its history, the Fractal project has carried out different activities to contribute to its overall objective. Some of them are:
- Research: Studies have been carried out to know the current state of the use of ICT in education in Mexico. Research has also been carried out on the barriers to the use of ICT in the classroom. The results of these investigations have been disseminated through different channels, Among them, the website and the electronic magazine of Fractal.
- Formation: Workshops and courses have been held to train teachers in the use of ICT in the classroom. They have also been developed Digital Educational Resources (Net) that can be used by teachers and students in the classroom. These resources are available at the website of Fractal.
- Diffusion: Different dissemination activities have been carried out to promote the use of ICTs in education and social development. Among these activities are the Organization of events, the Preparation of publications and the Conducting online activities. All these materials are available in the website of Fractal.
Results
The Fractal project has achieved important results In his career. Some of them are:
- The Creating a Virtual Community of more than 2,000 Members who share information, resources and experiences related to the use of ICT in education.
- The Development of a guide to good practice for the use of ICT in the classroom, which has been used by teachers across the country.
- The Dissemination of information on the use of ICT in education through different channels, Among them, The website, The electronic magazine and social networks.
- The Teacher training in the use of ICT in the classroom through workshops and courses.
- The Creation of digital educational resources (Net) for classroom use.
Perspectives
The Fractal project continues to work towards its overall goal to promote the use of ICT in the classroom and in children's daily lives, girls and adolescents in Mexico.
In the future, The project is expected to continue conducting research activities, training and dissemination to contribute to the improvement of education and social development in Mexico.
